Heading to a Star Trek prerelease (November 6 to 12, 2026)? This page has everything you need at the table: the video, a card-by-card review of the set, and a reference guide you can keep open while you build.

The video

Five bombs, the traps that lose games, and a five-step checklist that turns any pool into a solid deck. Nine pop quizzes along the way, so keep score.

Video coming soon.

Use these while you sort and build

Card Review (interactive) Every card worth playing, grouped by power: bombs, premium rares, removal, the best cards in each color, lands, and the traps to leave in your sideboard. Filter by color and rarity, and tap a card to enlarge it. Works on your phone.

Card Review (PDF, 12 MB) The same 151 cards with pictures, ready to print or save for a store with bad Wi-Fi.

Prerelease Reference Guide (PDF) The step-by-step build process, all ten archetypes, key synergies, and quick reminders for between rounds. Built from the full 306-card set.

The short version

  1. Sort: split your pool by color, pull out Spacecraft, and keep your tokens on the table.
  2. Find your power: pull every bomb and every removal spell first.
  3. Pick two colors: the deepest pair wins. Hybrid gold cards count for either color.
  4. Build the 40: 17 lands (16 with two or three landcyclers), 23 spells, 14 to 17 creatures, and seven or eight two-drops.
  5. Play first, unless your deck is slow and built on card advantage.

And leave Kobayashi Maru Scenario in your sideboard. It says you lose the game.
